Here in Parsons we share a vehicle with another set of Elders, so we have it every other week. So, after getting off to a slow start because of some inclement weather Tuesday coupled with the fact that we didn't get the car until Wednesday, we have had a pretty good week. By this point we have been able to meet most of the investigators and less active members with whom the other missionaries had been working and there are a lot of really nice people here, but only a few are really making much progress. I know that Elder Steadham and I are here for a reason though and so hopefully this change of missionaries is what a lot of them need. Sis. Archuleta is one of the people we've been teaching and she has a baptism date of the 16th of February that she is on track for so far, so that is awesome! One project with which the branch has asked us to help is to contact all of the members on the records for the Parsons Branch. Hopefully we can see some success with activation and part-member families as we help with that. We actually found a really nice part-member couple in a town about 20 miles away from Parsons called Oswego. We knocked on the door and asked if the member lived there and her husband told us that she was and got her to come to the door and we talked to her a bit. There was a really cool old military truck parked in their yard and I told her that I thought it was cool, after which she proceeded to tell him to go show it to us. Needless to say, we were able to talk to him for a bit about it and about himself. We didn't really get to bring up the gospel, but we offered our help with any service they may need and told them we'd come by the next time we were in town. I'm praying that something more will come of that! Hope everyone enjoyed the Superbowl! I hear that it was pretty exciting! Love you all! Elder Holmes

All in all we had a pretty great week this week even though the weather was a little iffy (snowy) one of the days that we didn't have a car. Of course, regardless of what could have happened this week, it would still have been an awesome one because Sister Archuleta was baptized! Everything went really well. The service was fantastic! The Spirit was definitely there during the whole thing, especially when she bore her testimony after she was baptized. We had invited a few investigators to come to the service, but the ones we really wanted to come weren't feeling well and so they didn't make it. However, we had a really good turnout of members to support the now newest member of their branch. As for the rest of the work, things continue to go really well! It's crazy to think that this transfer is drawing to a close already! Of course, it is a week shorter than usual, but time has still flown by! I'm so grateful for all the people who help me in this work either directly or through prayers for me. Love, Elder Holmes

We got transfer calls this week and I found out that Elder Steadham will be leaving already! Kinda crazy that he's only been here for one transfer. My new companion will be Elder Morton! This will be his 3rd transfer, so he's been out about 3 months.
We picked up 3 new investigators this week! Meaning we began teaching them, not that we physically picked them up. They are all members of part-member families so teaching them was pretty much the highlight of the week. It's always great to find new people to teach!
I'm doing well! I'll keep you up to date on my new comp and stuff next week!
